MALA MAKING WORKSHOP with Olivia
From the 8 limbs of yoga we will explore the link between asana (posture) and dharana (focused concentration) through the creation of your own mala. The practice of making your own meditation tool not only encourages self-expression and creativity, but increases self-healing and manifestation. Prior to creating malas we will cover its history, use, phenomena behind the number 108, choosing a mala and hand crafting/knotting techniques using your choice of gemstones and locally made tassels (chosen prior to the workshop).
Post-creation, students will learn the importance of cleansing rituals, as well as be given the chance to come up with a personal mantra. People from all walks of life can benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to bring personal gems, charms and findings to make a mala truly authentic to themselves.
